Job summary

Argos, part of Sainsbury's, is hiring a Home Delivery Driver to bring products to customers’ doors with reliability and care. You’ll drive a 3.5 tonne van, perform vehicle checks, and ensure on-time deliveries with excellent service.

You’ll work flexible shifts across the week and develop product knowledge to offer helpful recommendations. When not driving, you’ll support stock and shop-floor duties and learn new digital tools to improve delivery efficiency.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 and hold a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points
• Right to Work eligibility in the UK
• Ability to work a variety of shifts across the week and three shift blocks (5:00am–1:00pm, 1:00pm–6:00pm, 6:00pm–10:30pm) with hours scheduled around availability

Responsibilities

• Drive a 3.5 tonne van to deliver products to customers’ doors on time and in good condition
• Complete checks to keep the van organized, clean and roadworthy and secure delivery cases
• Serve customers professionally and keep them informed of any delays
• Be confident using new technology and comfortable delivering in diverse locations
• Assist with stock room or shop floor duties when not on the road
• Build knowledge about products, services and promotions to offer recommendations

As a Home Delivery Driver, you’ll provide an industry leading fast-track service that brings Argos products to customers' doors.

Eligibility

• You must be over 18 and have held a full UK/EU driving licence for at least 12 months with no more than 6 points on it
• You will complete an online driving risk assessment as part of your interview and, if you’re successful, there’ll be a driving assessment when you join us
• You must have Right to Work eligibility in the UK
• Ability to work a variety of shifts across the week and three shift blocks during the day: Monday to Sunday 5:00am - 1:00pm, 1:00pm - 6:00pm, 6:00pm - 10:30pm. Your hours will be scheduled to fit around your availability and may vary from week to week. Plus, there may be opportunities for overtime, including supporting your local Sainsbury’s.

What you’ll be doing

• Driving a 3.5 tonne van to deliver a variety of products to our customers doorsteps, on-time and in great condition
• Completing checks to ensure the van is organised, clean and roadworthy, and that delivery cases are secure before getting out onto the road to drive safely in a variety of locations and conditions
• Serve our customers brilliantly, supporting with any questions and keeping them aware of any delays
• Confident in learning to use new technology to do your job brilliantly, comfortable driving a large vehicle in different locations from residential streets to country lanes
• When not on the road, you’ll help maintain a slick operation in the stock room or on the shop floor
• Build great knowledge about our products, services and promotions to help provide recommendations
