Self-employed Core Delivery Driver

As a Self-Employed Core Delivery Driver, you'll enjoy freedom, flexibility, and better financial rewards, along with the support and benefits of being part of our wider Yodel team. No experience is necessary, and the more you deliver, the more you earn.

Competitive rates for each parcel delivered or collected: Typically, our Delivery Drivers can earn between GBP18 - GBP20 per hour (paid per parcel). We are committed to delivering promises as well as parcels, and we're continuously enhancing our rates by considering business mileage and operational costs. This makes us a total gamechanger.

Daily & Weekly Payment Options: Yodel offers flexible payment options. You can access earnings from the next day via an app provided by our early access partner, Onsi, or join the weekly payment cycle after four weeks of completed deliveries. Both options allow for more regular payments for your services.

Plenty of parcels to deliver: There are ample parcels to deliver, providing significant earning potential. Parcels weigh up to 15kg and vary in size. You can realistically deliver and collect between 16-25 parcels an hour, depending on the area and your experience, over six days a week. The more you deliver, the more you can earn by taking on more parcels.

Freedom and flexibility: You can plan your own route or use our award-winning app with simple instructions and built-in optimization to help you plan efficiently and communicate with customers directly.

Regular work in the same area: We deliver parcels for some of the biggest retailers, ensuring a steady flow of parcels and opportunities to stay local and familiarize yourself with the roads and customers.

Support and development: While enjoying the independence of being self-employed, you'll also have the backing of our expert team and access to a Yodel representative for support.

The Life of a Core Delivery Driver

Your day is flexible—you can plan your route to keep things interesting. At each delivery, use your mobile to scan parcels, ensuring safe receipt by the customer. We arrange suitable collection times, and for rural areas, parcels can be dropped off at your location. It's simple!

Requirements to get started

No experience? No problem! We provide full training and support. To begin, you'll need:

• Access to an insured car or van (up to 3.5 tonnes)
• A full UK or EC/EEA Driving Licence
• Proof of Right to Work in the UK
• IOS or Android smartphone
• Proof of your own bank account
• A great attitude
