Job summary

Pertemps North Midlands is seeking a reliable Delivery Driver in Swadlincote for a full-time, temp-to-perm role operating a refrigerated transport service. You will drive Category B vehicles (up to 3.5 tonnes) on a Mon-Fri schedule, typically 07:00–17:00, delivering temperature-sensitive goods to hospitals, care homes and patients’ homes, ensuring correct temperatures and safe arrival.

A clean licence, fewer than 6 points, and previous delivery experience are required.

Qualifications

This full-time Delivery Driver role in Swadlincote offers £13.05 hourly, starting on a temp-to-permanent basis with 33 days annual leave once permanent, plus overtime. Working within a specialist refrigerated transport operation, the successful candidate will move temperature-sensitive items such as medications, vials and biological samples to hospitals, care homes and patients' residences. Reliability, professionalism and close attention to detail are vital, since vehicles must remain at correct temperatures and goods arrive safely. Drivers represent the business during every drop, so courteous communication and careful handling matter. A clean licence and confidence with specialist vehicles would suit this position well. We are looking for reliable and professional Delivery Drivers to join a specialist refrigerated transport operation based in Swadlincote. As a Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for transporting temperature-sensitive goods using specialist vehicles, helping to ensure products are delivered safely and in suitable condition. The company provides temperature-controlled transport for sensitive items, including medications, vials and biological samples, delivering to hospitals, care homes and patients’ homes. This is an important role where reliability, professionalism and attention to detail are essential. You will represent the company when making deliveries and will need to provide a high standard of customer service at each destination.

The role:

• Monday to Friday working pattern 45 hours per week, with a 60-minute break deducted (approx. 0700-1700)
• Driving Category B vehicles up to 3.5 tonnes
• Delivering temperature-sensitive goods to a range of destinations (approx. 20-40 per day)
• Working with refrigerated and temperature-controlled transport
• Maintaining a professional approach when dealing with customers and delivery locations

The ideal candidate will:

• Be aged 21 or over
• Hold a full Category B (3.5 tonne) driving licence
• Have fewer than 6 points on their driving licence
• Have previous delivery or professional driving experience
• Be reliable, punctual and customer-focused
• Be comfortable working independently and managing deliveries responsibly

Rate of pay: £13.05 per hour
