Job summary

Gatwick Airport Limited seeks a strategic Head of Delivery (Dual Runway) to steer a multi‑billion pound airport expansion from concept through delivery and handover within a live operational environment.

You will lead a senior team across airfield, civil engineering, surface access and enabling works, ensuring safety, regulatory compliance and on‑time, within‑budget delivery while fostering innovation and collaboration with delivery partners.

Qualifications

• Degree‑level qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
• Experience leading large multi‑disciplinary client‑side teams (up to 30 people).
• Significant experience leading infrastructure programmes valued in excess of £500m, with £1bn+ desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop the programme‑wide delivery strategy for the Dual Runway and Surface Access programme.
• Provide leadership across procurement, mobilisation, construction and handover phases.
• Lead and inspire a high‑performing delivery team and manage supplier consortiums.
• Oversee Tier 1 contractors and delivery partner mobilisation and performance.
• Champion health, safety and environmental performance across the programme and supply chain.
• Ensure regulatory, planning and DCO obligations are met.
• Drive performance against cost, schedule, quality and carbon targets.
• Support development of low‑carbon infrastructure solutions.
• Represent the programme at senior governance forums and deputise for the Capital Programmes Director.
