Job summary

SPAR Thropton in Northumberland is hiring a Deli Assistant to deliver great service and food quality. You will prepare and serve a variety of deli items, from ready-to-go to made-to-order options, in a welcoming team environment.

You’ll contribute to high standards of food safety, hygiene, and presentation while assisting customers and maintaining displays. The role is part-time, 24 hours per week, in-store at SPAR Thropton.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-facing roles preferred.
• Knowledge of food safety and allergen handling desirable.
• Able to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide friendly, helpful service and share product knowledge with customers.
• Prepare, bake, and present deli products for ready-to-go and made-to-order options.
• Keep shelves and counters stocked and attractively displayed.
• Follow food safety standards including allergen awareness and audits.
