Job summary

The Emerald Group is seeking an experienced Underwriting Manager to oversee delegated authority schemes from London, with hybrid working arrangements.

You will develop strong broker relationships, work with partner brokers, and collaborate with Underwriting and Operations to review scheme performance, identify growth opportunities and drive profitability. Candidates should have 5+ years of underwriting experience, UK market knowledge, degree-level education and preferably CII qualifications.

Qualifications

• 5+ years underwriting experience from an insurance carrier or MGA
• Knowledge of the UK insurance market and regulatory practices
• Experience with delegated authority accounts management
• Strong relationships with brokers and cross-functional collaboration
• Understanding of profitability improvement for schemes

Responsibilities

• Proactively develop relationships with a panel of brokers and own profitable business generation
• Collaborate with partner brokers and across Underwriting and Operations to review scheme performance
• Identify poorly performing accounts and implement actions to improve performance
• Review and manage delegated authority schemes to maximise potential
