Job summary

als Recruitment Limited is seeking a Delegated Authority & Reinsurance Technician in London. The role supports management of Delegated Authority arrangements and expands knowledge into Treaty Reinsurance operations within a growing specialist reinsurance team.

You will work on binders, approvals, and compliance, with exposure to Lloyd's systems and reporting. The ideal candidate has 2+ years in the insurance/reinsurance market and strong Excel skills. Hybrid work arrangement in London.

Qualifications

• 2+ years' experience in insurance or reinsurance
• Knowledge of binders and Delegated Authority practices
• Experience using Lloyd's/London Market systems such as ATLAS and DCOM
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills

Responsibilities

• Support management of new and existing Underwriting Agreements, including binders, Binding Authorities, Coverholder appointment agreements and consortia
• Draft and review Underwriting Agreements and recommend amendments
• Process endorsements and changes to existing agreements
• Assist with approval and registration of agreements using Lloyd's and London Market systems (ATLAS, DCOM)
• Support Coverholder approvals, due diligence and Lloyd's compliance requirements
• Assist with preparation and distribution of risk bordereaux
• Maintain internal trackers, records and reporting
• Produce MI to support oversight of Underwriting Agreements
• Support Treaty Reinsurance accounting and processing across clients/accounts
• Gain exposure to profit commissions, reinstatements and loss ratio calculations

Are you already working within Delegated Authority and looking for a role that will give you the opportunity to broaden your technical experience?

We are working with an established specialist London Market broker that is continuing to grow and has recently created a new specialist reinsurance team.

As part of that growth, they are looking for a Delegated Authority & Reinsurance Technician to join the team.

This is a particularly interesting opportunity for someone who already has a good grounding in Delegated Authority, binders and London Market processes, but doesn't necessarily want their next move to be more of the same.

Alongside supporting the management of Delegated Authority arrangements, you will have the opportunity to develop your knowledge and experience of Treaty Reinsurance operations, giving you broader exposure across both insurance and reinsurance.

What will you be doing?

• Supporting the management of new and existing Underwriting Agreements, including binders, Binding Authorities, Coverholder appointment agreements and consortia
• Drafting and reviewing Underwriting Agreements and recommending amendments where required
• Processing endorsements and changes to existing agreements
• Assisting with the approval and registration of agreements using Lloyd's and London Market systems including ATLAS and DCOM
• Supporting Coverholder approvals, due diligence and ongoing Lloyd's compliance requirements
• Assisting with the preparation and distribution of risk bordereaux
• Maintaining internal trackers, records and reporting
• Producing MI to support the management and oversight of Underwriting Agreements
• Supporting Treaty Reinsurance accounting and processing across a variety of clients and accounts
• Gaining exposure to areas including profit commissions, reinstatements and loss ratio calculations

What are we looking for?

This could suit someone who has built the foundations of their London Market career and is ready for a role that will expand their experience.

Ideally, you will have:

• A minimum of 2 years' experience within the insurance or reinsurance market
• Knowledge of binders and Delegated Authority practices
• Experience using Lloyd's/London Market systems such as ATLAS and DCOM
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
• Confidence working independently as well as within a small team
• Good communication and relationship-building skills
• Strong Excel and general Microsoft Office skills

Previous experience within a broker, MGA would be particularly relevant.

Experience of LORS and Treaty Reinsurance processing would be advantageous but is not essential.
