CBSbutler Holdings Limited trading as CBSbutler is seeking an experienced Software Engineering Lead - Digital Engineering to drive technical delivery on complex software factory projects within MOD, Defence and aerospace domains.

You will lead cross‑functional engineering teams, manage risks and dependencies, and ensure delivery against scope, schedule and quality while coordinating with Delivery Management. Reading-based with hybrid onsite requirements.

Qualifications

Active SC clearance is mandatory.
DV clearance desirable.
Sole UK National eligibility due to programme requirements.
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT or related field.
8+ years in software, systems or platform engineering projects.

Responsibilities

Coordinate technical activities across multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
Track project execution against objectives and milestones.
Identify and manage technical risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.
Support development and maintenance of project plans and roadmaps.
Provide technical leadership and first-level decision-making.
Escalate engineering and delivery issues as needed.
Manage technical interfaces with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
Support project reporting, forecasting and performance monitoring.
Facilitate technical reviews, governance and milestone assessments.
Ensure deliverables meet quality, process and compliance standards.
Contribute to effort estimation and resource planning.
Support configuration and change management.
Communicate status, risks and mitigation plans to stakeholders.
Maintain alignment with architects and delivery teams.
