Job summary

YT Technologies in the United Kingdom is seeking a highly experienced Systems Engineer to join their R&D team on a permanent basis. This hands-on design and technical leadership role will take full ownership of system designs from concept through manufacture and through-life support.

You will lead integration, verification, and testing across hardware, software, and FPGA domains, while mentoring engineers and coordinating with suppliers and clients to capture requirements and deliver robust,

Qualifications

• Lifecycle methodologies used across the full engineering lifecycle, including V-model and Agile.
• Ability to test, debug, and resolve issues across hardware, software, and FPGA firmware.
• Strong documentation skills for requirements, design specs, and test plans.
• Experience with PLM tools and configuration management.

Responsibilities

• Lead full system development, integration, verification, and validation.
• Produce and manage requirements and specifications aligned to goals.
• Plan and execute tests, evaluate prototypes, and fault-find.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Coordinate with suppliers and production to support legacy and new designs.
• Engage with clients to elicit requirements and provide technical support.
