Job summary

PA Consulting seeks a Commercial & Procurement Specialist for Defence & Security—Consultant. The role offers hybrid working with two days on client sites, handling major procurements, supplier negotiations, and contract strategies across defence, infrastructure, and public sector projects.

You will drive procurement processes, advise on contracts, and help restructure procurement capabilities for large programs, leveraging NEC familiarity and government procurement experience.

Qualifications

• Experience with large and complex procurements across equipment, digital services and infrastructure.
• Understanding of procurement lifecycle: strategies, sourcing, tender evaluation, negotiation, and contract management.
• Experience advising on contract terms and designing agreements to optimise market outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal skills for multi-stakeholder environments.
• Experience with major government procurements and approvals processes is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with NEC contract forms is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Design and run major procurements, form procurement and contracting strategies, create commercial agreements and guide market engagement.
• Project manage procurement processes: supplier engagement, tender evaluation, negotiation, and business-case development.
• Advise on transitioning from legacy to new frameworks and manage major contracts and related business change.
• Review client procurement and commercial function performance; lead restructuring and capability improvements (category management, SRM, sustainable supply chains).
• Support renegotiation and improvement of agreements or resolution of major disputes.
• Provide effective commercial management for PA’s largest complex assignments with cross‑functional teams.
