Job summary

Evodia Limited is hiring a SC cleared Assistant Safety Engineer for a MOD Abbeywood, Bristol base with hybrid work and 3-4 days onsite weekly. The contract runs to 31 March 2027 with an immediate start and up to £440 per day inside IR35.

You will craft safety requirements for naval subsystems, support safety management systems, and provide expert safety guidance across design, testing and deployment within a highly regulated defence environment.

Qualifications

• SC clearance or eligibility is required.
• Experience delivering safety systems in complex environments.
• Familiar with safety legislation and regulated industries.
• Professional registration (EngTech/RSciTech) or higher qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage safety requirements and documentation for subsystems.
• Support Safety Management Systems and hazard/risk analysis activities.
• Provide expert safety advice during design, testing, verification and validation.
• Manage safety-related contractual activities and oversee safety performance.
• Assist in decommissioning and disposal of equipment with safety focus.
• Contribute to safety policy and process development to meet Defence standards.
