Job summary

Our client is a Bristol-based defence construction contractor seeking a Quantity Surveyor to support commercial management on Defence projects in the South West. The role offers hybrid working with a salary up to £60k plus package and a clear development path for someone with around 4 years of experience.

You will assist with cost control, subcontractor management, and cost recovery while ensuring compliance with contracts and commercial procedures.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline
• Around 4 years’ experience in a commercial department
• Strong understanding of construction commercial processes
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
• Collaborative approach and ability to engage with project teams
• Defence experience is advantageous but not essential

Responsibilities

• Assist with cost control, forecasting, and commercial reporting
• Manage subcontractor packages, valuations, and payments
• Support change control, variations, and cost recovery
• Work closely with project teams to manage risk and maximise value
• Ensure compliance with contract and commercial procedures
• Contribute to the successful commercial delivery of secure projects
