Job summary

Mind Foundry is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join a multidisciplinary team delivering robust ML systems for Defence and National Security. You’ll turn ideas from prototyping into deployable capabilities that work in demanding operational environments.

The role involves travel to client sites and hybrid/office-based work from Summertown, Oxford, with UK Security Vetting (SC) eligibility required. You’ll collaborate with scientists, engineers, product managers, and customers to ship

Qualifications

• Degree in CS, Applied Math, Statistics, Physics or related STEM field.
• Strong Python coding with clean, tested, documented code.
• Experience with production infrastructure: Docker, Linux, CI/CD, MLOps and cloud.
• Familiarity with ML libraries; choose pragmatic real-world approaches.
• Able to communicate complex ideas clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Ability to produce technical documentation and notes.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and iterate ML prototypes to production-ready capability for defence and national security use cases.
• Translate research outputs into maintainable, testable ML systems.
• Work with real-world data, including noisy, high-volume or streaming data.
• Collaborate with ML scientists, software engineers, product managers and customers.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to standards.
