Ambitious Defence Intelligence Analyst wanted to drive real impact in Defence & Government from Nottingham.
The UK's defence sector is under pressure to modernise faster than at any point in the last two decades, and intelligence analysis sits right at the centre of that shift. This role is with an established SME operating in Defence & Government, a business that's grown steadily and now needs a Defence Intelligence Analyst to strengthen how it processes, interprets and acts on sensitive information. It's a genuinely mid-level position with room to build a serious career, not a stepping stone role dressed up as something bigger.
Analysing intelligence data from multiple sources and turning raw information into clear, actionable assessments
Producing written reports and briefings for internal stakeholders and, where relevant, government clients
Tracking developments across the defence landscape and flagging risks or opportunities early
Working alongside cross-functional teams to make sure intelligence findings actually inform decisions
Maintaining strict standards around data handling, classification and information security
Supporting senior analysts on longer-running projects while building your own specialist knowledge
Proven experience in an intelligence, analytical or defence-related role
Strong written communication skills. You'll need to write clearly under time pressure
Comfort working with classified or sensitive material, and the discretion that comes with it
Analytical thinking that goes beyond the obvious. Good analysts spot what others miss
Eligibility for UK security clearance is essential
A collaborative approach. This isn't a role you do in isolation
Salary of £34,000 to £51,000, depending on experience
Bonus scheme on top of base salary
Private medical insurance and pension contribution
Generous annual leave with flexible working built in
