Job summary

Mott MacDonald is seeking a Project Manager for the Buildings (Defence) sector to lead a growing UK portfolio, delivering defence infrastructure projects with delivery excellence, technical rigour, and commercial acumen across multiple sites.

The role requires a strong defence network, MOD policy knowledge, and regular travel to sites across the UK, with a hybrid-working policy and opportunities to advance within an employee‑owned business.

Qualifications

• Essential: Proven experience in the Defence Sector in a project management capacity.
• Essential: Degree in relevant technical discipline (engineering, science or project management).
• Essential: Knowledge of MOD policy, processes and procedures.
• Essential: Recent, relevant knowledge of the servicing, inspection and maintenance of military vehicles.
• Essential: Must be eligible to achieve security clearance.
• Desirable: Recognised project or programme management qualification from PMI, APM, CMI, RICS, CIOB.
• Desirable: Requirements writing, specifically related to infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead within a growing portfolio to support UK Defence and Security clients.
• Improve project management processes and drive delivery excellence and efficiency.
• Role involves regular travel to sites across the UK.
