Job summary

MBDA is seeking an In-Service Support (ISS) Engineer to join a small team and interface with frontline operators and design teams. The role focuses on ensuring continuous operational availability and safety of deployed defence systems, with a mix of hands-on diagnostics and stakeholder management.

You will diagnose complex faults, manage technical queries, and contribute to investigations in a high-stakes environment, requiring proactive communication and strong problem-solving skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or extensive relevant experience in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 3+ years in engineering support, sustaining engineering or systems integration, ideally in defence/aerospace/maritime.
• Strong debugging, fault-finding, and root-cause analysis across complex systems.
• Familiarity with defence standards, configuration control practices, and safety-critical engineering processes.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to explain issues to engineers and operators.

Responsibilities

• Oversee repairs and fault investigations, or system-level issues reported from the field; provide rapid engineering solutions to minimize downtime.
• Sustain ing Engineering: Calculate spares and repairs requirements to ensure availability.
• System Monitoring: Review data to identify reliability trends and coordinate with design/software/manufacturing teams.
• Technical Documentation: Review and update engineering documents to high defence standards.
• Obsolescence Management: Monitor and address component obsolescence issues.
• Stakeholder Liaison: Act as technical contact for military end-users and procurement agencies.
