Job summary

Serco Limited is seeking a Housekeeping team member in our Defence sector to maintain clean, safe, and welcoming spaces for colleagues, customers and visitors. You will help deliver smooth operations and uphold high standards daily.

Key responsibilities include cleaning, following schedules, reporting hazards, and assisting teammates. A reliable, independent worker with good literacy and basic numeracy will fit well and may cover during peak times, including some weekends.

Qualifications

• Good basic literacy and numeracy, able to communicate effectively.
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and proper use of cleaning equipment and chemicals.
• Understanding of health and safety requirements, COSHH, risk assessments and manual handling.

Responsibilities

• Clean walls, floors, furniture and fittings using standard cleaning methods and equipment.
• Follow schedules and specifications to ensure designated areas meet required standards.
• Maintain bathrooms, bedrooms, offices and external areas; handle litter and waste appropriately.
• Use cleaning equipment in line with safety regulations and training.
• Report safety hazards, equipment defects and maintenance issues promptly to management.
• Support colleagues by covering other areas when needed and participate in training.
