Job summary

QinetiQ Shoeburyness is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Operative to join the Estates Delivery team within UK Defence Operations. You will deliver planned and requested grounds activities to ensure a high-quality Grounds Operations service.

The role involves strimming, hedge cutting, ride-on grass cutting and general site maintenance. It is 37 hours per week at the Shoeburyness site; a full UK Driving Licence is required and SC clearance eligibility is noted in the posting.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering a range of grounds maintenance services including general upkeep and specialist tasks.
• Ability to prioritise workloads effectively to meet operational and business needs.
• Applying health, safety and environmental procedures in daily work.
• Overseeing and monitoring delivery of allocated tasks.

Responsibilities

• Delivering grounds maintenance services and identifying areas for improvement
• Delivering specialist grounds services including attention to pest and tree hazards
• Maintaining knowledge and awareness of the site grounds, where the team will keep abreast of land legislation and standards alongside technical requirements/developments
• Supporting site preparations and responses to enable ongoing safe access and use of premises
• Ensuring correct prioritisation of work programme to satisfy business needs
• Ensuring maintenance standards and quality of work delivered are to the required level
