Job summary

Gold Group is seeking an Environmental Engineer to join a collaborative System Safety and Environmental Engineering team in the defence sector. You will ensure compliance with environmental legislation, policies, and standards while identifying, advising on, mitigating, and reducing environmental risks across complex products, systems and services.

The role requires Def Stan 00-051 experience, UK MOD environmental expertise, and BPSS clearance with eligibility for SC clearance.

Qualifications

• Experience with Def Stan 00-051 and environmental case work in defence/aerospace.
• In-depth knowledge of UK environmental legislation (REACH, ISO 14001) and related standards.
• Proven ability to manage stakeholders across disciplines and supply chains.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain EMP, RES, EFM, ECR, and Hazardous Materials Reports for programmes.
• Integrate environmental considerations into design and development following Def Stan 00-051.
• Influence lifecycle material selection and disposal decisions across system lifecycles.
• Lead or support internal and supplier environmental audits; implement corrective actions.
• Engage suppliers and stakeholders to flow-down environmental requirements.
• Support Environmental Health & Safety teams and maintain the Environmental Management System.
