Job summary

SR2 is seeking an experienced Data Engineer with a Defence background to join a leading technology consultancy delivering data and software solutions to the Defence, National Security and Government sectors. You will design, develop and maintain robust data pipelines and data models, ensuring quality, governance and security across on-premise and cloud environments.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Data Engineer in the Defence/MOD sector.
• Proficient in Snowflake and Databricks.
• Strong SQL and Python skills.
• Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and ETL frameworks.
• Work with large, complex datasets ensuring data quality and accessibility.
• Build and manage data models to support analytics and reporting.
• Implement data governance, security and quality controls.
• Work with on-premise and cloud data environments.
• Optimize data workflows for performance and reliability.
• Collaborate with Defence stakeholders to deliver secure data solutions.
• Support technical improvements and contribute to data engineering best practices.
