Job summary

Meritus Talent is seeking a Building & Construction Project Manager for a 12-month contract in Portsmouth. The role focuses on CAPEX and infrastructure delivery, coordinating design, procurement and construction across multidisciplinary teams to meet cost, quality and schedule targets.

You will lead projects with strong health and safety governance, liaise with stakeholders and external contractors, and ensure successful handover on large operational sites.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering construction, infrastructure or building services projects from inception through to handover.
• Strong project management background within construction, facilities management or engineering environments.
• Experience managing CAPEX projects and controlling project budgets.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and external contractors.
• Experience developing scopes of work, specifications and project delivery plans.
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing experience.
• Knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services.
• Experience monitoring site works and contractor performance.
• Understanding of construction health and safety legislation and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead CAPEX and infrastructure projects from feasibility through to handover.
• Manage refurbishment, building services and plant replacement works.
• Oversee design, specification, procurement and construction phases.
• Coordinate with stakeholders, external contractors and service providers.
• Ensure delivery against cost, quality and schedule objectives.
