Job summary

Meritus is recruiting a Building & Construction Project Manager to join a Defence sector client in Stevenage on a 12‑month contract. The role requires BPSS clearance, with SC clearance advantageous, and UK Nationals only.

The position oversees CAPEX/infrastructure projects from feasibility to handover, leading cross‑discipline teams and managing cost, quality and schedules. 37 hours/wk, 4.5 days, with some travel and site attendance as needed.

Qualifications

• Proven experience delivering construction, infrastructure or building services projects from inception through to handover.
• Strong project management background within construction, facilities management or engineering environments.
• Experience managing CAPEX projects and controlling project budgets.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary project teams and external contractors.
• Experience developing scopes of work, specifications and project delivery plans.
• Strong stakeholder management and client-facing experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead CAPEX and infrastructure projects from feasibility through handover, ensuring on-time delivery.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams and external contractors across design, procurement and construction.
• Monitor budgets, risks and governance to meet cost, quality and schedule targets.
• Maintain proactive stakeholder engagement and reporting to clients and senior management.
