Job summary

Independent Lives in Salisbury is seeking a dedicated Personal Assistant to support a 33-year-old non-verbal man with autism to live independently at home. You will assist with daily living, routines, personal care and mobility, with a focus on safety and dignity.

The role requires a full-time, permanent commitment, a valid UK driving licence for an automatic vehicle, and a patient, calm, person-centred approach. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the UK.
• Driving license (automatic license acceptable).
• No prior experience required; positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Reliable with good timekeeping; able to follow instructions and use initiative.
• Able to speak/read English to a reasonable standard.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living, maintain routines and promote independence.
• Provide personal care including shaving and haircuts.
• Assist with driving and accompany the individual using an automatic vehicle.
• Be the senior team member on site during shifts and adapt to the rota.
