Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd are recruiting a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a primary pupil with complex needs at a specialist SEN school in Coventry from September.

The role involves providing essential 1:1 support throughout the school day, assisting with tailored learning activities, supporting communication and engagement, and delivering personal care and mobility assistance as needed. Collaborative work with teachers and therapists is key.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting individuals with complex physical needs and learning difficulties.
• Confidence providing personal care.
• A nurturing and compassionate approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• A proactive and reliable attitude.
• A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
• Previous SEN or care setting experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support throughout the school day.
• Assist with learning activities tailored to the pupil's needs.
• Support communication and engagement in lessons.
• Provide personal care, including toileting and hygiene support.
• Assist with mobility, positioning and physical support where required.
• Support emotional wellbeing and social development.
• Work closely with teachers, therapists and other professionals.
• Build a positive and trusting relationship with the pupil.
