Job summary

East Lancashire Hospitals NHS Trust is recruiting a Decontamination Technician for the Burnley General Hospital site. The role sits in the Hospital Decontamination Hub (HSDU) and Endoscopy Decontamination, with duties around re-processing and packing sterile instruments.

You will work on a four-week rota, Monday to Saturday 6am–10pm, with full training and support provided to maintain high standards of patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assist with re-processing of standard reusable surgical instruments, medical devices and packs.
• Process Endoscopy decontamination: receipt, pre-clean, decontaminate and pack Endoscopes.
• Operate modern industrial laundry machinery to wash, dry, press and fold hospital linen.
• Work within the Hospital Decontamination Hub (HSDU), Endoscopy Decontamination and Laundry departments.
• Adhere to the department's quality procedures and work to high standards.
