Job summary

Svitzer in London is seeking a Deckhand to join our London Operations. This role involves working as part of a close-knit tug crew, supporting the Master and officers to ensure safe, efficient operations and taking ownership of deck operations and vessel standards.

You will perform maintenance, keep the vessel clean and ready, and participate in deck and engine-room tasks as required. Ongoing training and professional development are encouraged and supported.

Qualifications

• Able Seaman or Deckhand with Navigational Watch Rating certification.
• ENG1 medical and STCW Basic Safety Training valid.
• Full UK Driving Licence and legal right to live and work in the UK.
• Harbour or terminal towage experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a tug crew supporting the Master and officers.
• Take ownership of deck operations, safety routines and vessel standards.
• Carry out planned maintenance and keep the vessel clean, safe and ready.
• Participate in deck and engine-room tasks as required.
• Commit to ongoing training and professional development.
