Job summary

Bidfood Worcester is seeking an organised and proactive Transport Team member to support day-to-day operations. The role involves debriefing drivers, processing returns and credits, and ensuring food safety and documentation are maintained to high standards.

You will work closely with Transport Managers, Drivers, Warehouse and Stock teams to resolve issues, monitor temperature records and uphold food safety procedures in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong attention to detail and good communication in a fast-paced transport environment.
• Understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
• Previous transport or logistics experience is beneficial but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Debrief drivers after completing delivery routes.
• Process customer returns, refused deliveries, shortages and credits.
• Investigate credits to identify root causes and reduce stock losses.
• Liaise with drivers and teams to resolve credit discrepancies.
• Ensure delivery paperwork and documentation are completed accurately.
• Monitor returned cages, pallets and collections.
• Record vehicle temperature and ensure related documentation is accurate.
• Ensure vehicle hygiene and weekly wash records are kept.
• Identify damaged products or contamination risks and escalate accordingly.
• Collaborate with Transport Managers, Drivers, Warehouse and Stock teams to resolve issues.
• Complete daily transport reports for audits.

About the role

We are looking for an organised and proactive individual to join our busy Transport Team at Bidfood Worcester.

The role involves supporting the day-to-day transport operation, ensuring all returning drivers are effectively debriefed, delivery documentation is completed accurately, and high standards of food safety and operational compliance are maintained.

Key responsibilities include:

• Debriefing drivers following completion of their delivery routes.
• Processing customer returns, refused deliveries, shortages and product credits.
• Investigating product credits, identifying root causes and completing follow-up actions to reduce stock losses and improve delivery performance.
• Liaising with drivers and relevant departments to investigate credit discrepancies and ensure issues are resolved appropriately.
• Ensuring all delivery paperwork and relevant documentation is completed accurately.
• Monitoring and recording returned cages, pallets and collections.
• Food Safety & Compliance: Ensuring returned food products are correctly handled, recorded and segregated in line with company food safety procedures.
• Temperature Control: Checking and recording vehicle temperature documentation and escalating any temperature-related concerns.
• Vehicle Hygiene: Monitoring vehicle cleanliness and ensuring weekly vehicle wash records are accurately completed.
• Product Integrity: Identifying and escalating concerns relating to damaged products, contamination risks or incorrect handling of food products.
• Identifying and escalating delivery issues and operational concerns.
• Liaising with Transport Managers, Drivers, Warehouse and Stock teams to resolve issues.
• Completing daily transport reports and maintaining accurate records to support operational and food safety audits.

The successful candidate will have strong attention to detail, good communication skills and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced transport environment. An understanding of food safety, hygiene standards and the importance of accurate record-keeping would be advantageous. Previous transport or logistics experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
