Job summary

Progressive Motor Group in Maidstone is seeking an Assistant or Dealership Accountant to support the Regional Accountant in the finance function for 2-3 dealerships. The role suits Part Qualified, QBE, or qualified by experience, with training provided.

You will prepare monthly management accounts, review ledgers, supervise Accounts staff, and provide analysis to drive profitability and cash flow. Kerridge or Pinnacle experience is preferred, and there are clear progression opportunities within

Qualifications

Qualified by experience or part-qualified with dealership experience.
Proven experience in a car dealership environment.
Strong technical and analytical accounting skills.
Collaborative leader with a sense of humour.
Experience using Kerridge, Pinnacle or similar dealership accounting systems.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Methodical, commercially minded and highly organised.

Responsibilities

Prepare monthly management accounts, including detailed analysis and commentary.
Close liaison with the Regional Accountant.
Review and control of purchase and sales ledger data from the centralised accounts team.
Leadership and supervision of Accounts staff and Sales Administrators.
Providing analytical support to drive profit optimisation and cash flow.
Monitoring KPIs and performance measurement tools.
Review of capital expenditure and project appraisals.
Consolidation of budgets and forecasts.
Investigative and ad-hoc financial projects.
