Job description

Dealership Accountant required in either Newport or Bristol.

• SALARY: Starting salary up to £48,000 per annum with a competitive bonus providing a £52,000 annual on-target earnings.
• HOURS: Monday to Friday with occasional overtime at peak periods of the financial year.

Our client, a premier global automotive manufacturer renowned for its array of iconic brands, is currently recruiting for a Dealership Accountant to operate out of either their Newport or Bristol dealerships.

Reporting to the Regional Operations Director and working as part of a friendly administration and accounts team across of our client's two dealerships in Newport and Bristol, as a Dealership Accountant you will be responsible for delivering financial management service to the dealerships including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, financial controls and compliance with all Group policies and procedures.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Extend financial management support to staff at all levels, ensuring company income and expenditure are processed accurately and within set deadlines.
• Provide support and guidance for all financial and accounts-related matters to the Regional Operations Directors and to the dealership management teams within the region.
• Professionally challenge General Managers on their accounts and results, and work with them on implementing innovative solutions and new ways of working.
• Ensure the necessary controls are in place to ensure the commercial actions of the rest of the management team within the dealership are in line with our client's policies and procedures.

In order to be eligible, our clients are looking for a well-presented individual who has a positive work ethic and recent or current experience within a similar Dealership Accountant role in a fast-paced accounting environment. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, highly organised and a good team player, be able to work to strict deadlines and have an attention to detail. They should be self-motivated with the ability to solve problems and be IT literate (ideally with Kerridge/ADP dealer management system experience). You will need to be located near either Newport or Bristol, given that you will handle accounts for our client's two dealerships in that region.
