Job Title: Dealership Accountant

Location: Bridgwater, Somerset

Salary: £51,000 - £53,000 per annum

Our client, a large and progressive group with world-leading brands, is seeking a forward-thinking Dealership Accountant to join their team at a single site. The role offers a highly competitive salary, bonus, car, pension, benefits, and potential hybrid working options.

Responsibilities:

1. Manage the accounts function, ensuring timely and accurate management accounts are delivered.
2. Develop controls to maximize returns and cash flow.
3. Provide management information and support business growth and development.
4. Supervise one or two accounts staff and a sales administrator.
5. Prepare monthly management accounts with detailed analysis and commentary, liaising with Divisional Finance Directors.
6. Oversee purchase and sales ledger information from the centralised accounting department.
7. Support profit optimization through analytical evaluations.
8. Monitor performance measurement tools for projects.
9. Review capital and project appraisals.
10. Consolidate group budgets and forecasts.
11. Conduct investigative and analytical exercises as required.

Candidate Profile:

• Strong technical and analytical accounting skills.
• Proven track record within the motor industry, specifically in accountancy within a car dealership.
• Experience with Kerridge, Pinnacle, or similar accounting packages.
• Exceptional leadership skills with a good sense of humor.
• Strong written and communication skills.
