Job summary

Lyreco Switzerland AG is seeking a Regional Distribution Centre Operations Manager for the Doncaster RDC. The role oversees delivery reliability, staff motivation, and compliance with vehicle and driver regulations. 5am starts and Monday–Friday, 40 hours per week.

Responsibilities include vehicle maintenance oversight, HR record-keeping, regular staff meetings, driver training, and route coverage during holidays and sick leave. A CRB check is required.

Qualifications

  • Hold a current full C1 driving license with no more than 6 minor offence penalty points.
  • Working knowledge of tachographs and EU driving regulations related to the working time directive.
  • Be organised and flexible to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • CRB check is required.
  • Regular contact with customers; excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Team oriented ethos and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Basic PC skills including Word and Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all vehicles are maintained as per manufacturers recommendations and legal requirements.
  • Establish and maintain personnel files for all RDC staff and keep records up to date.
  • Motivate staff and hold monthly meetings with all staff; produce meeting minutes.
  • Instruct drivers on operations, procedures, quality, and security.
  • Cover delivery routes for staff holidays and absence, plus ad hoc volume drops.

Monday-Friday- 40 Hours

Salary: £32,715 per annum

5am start.

Regional Distribution Centre Operations Manager

This is an outstanding opportunity to join Lyreco, one of the largest workplace solutions companies in the world. As a result of growth, we are seeking a Regional Distribution Centre Operations Manager for our regional distribution Centre in Doncaster. As the Regional Distribution Centre Operations Manager, you will provide relief cover for holiday, sickness, and training at an RDC ensuring a reliable customer delivery service.

Responsibilities
  • To ensure all vehicles are maintained in accordance with manufacturers recommendations, are roadworthy and operate within legal requirements e.g., payload, tachograph, etc.
  • Establish and maintain personnel files for all RDC staff and ensure records and information is kept up to date.
  • Motivate staff and hold regular monthly meetings with all staff and produce minutes of these meetings.
  • Ensure drivers are instructed on all aspects of the operation and vehicles including procedures, quality, and security.
  • There will be a requirement to cover the delivery routes for staff holidays and absence as well as ad hoc volume drops.
Qualifications
  • Hold a current full C1 driving license with no more than 6 minor offence penalty points.
  • Working knowledge of tachographs and EU driving regulations in relation to the working time directive.
  • Be organized and flexible in approach to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Smart personal appearance is essential.
  • Have knowledge of tachograph and drivers’ hours regulations.
  • You will be required to complete a CRB check.
  • This job role requires regular contact with the company’s customer base. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills are essential.
