Job summary

RED Engineering Design seeks an Associate Electrical Engineer (Direct Current Power Systems) to lead the creation of in-house DC design and power modelling for AI-ready data centre infrastructure in the UK. The role will coordinate with R&D to develop reference designs and evolve into the subject matter expert for DC power system design and assurance.

Qualifications

• Deep technical understanding of DC power distribution principles and topology.
• Strong power modelling capability using recognised electrical analysis tools.
• Ability to interpret UK/European/international standards and translate to designs.
• Clear design narratives and technical reports for project teams.

Responsibilities

• Establish RED’s in-house DC design and power modelling capability for AI-ready data centre infrastructure.
• Develop reference designs for DC AI factory infrastructure solutions.
• Act as the central SME for DC power system design, modelling, integration and assurance.
• Create design guidance, calculation methods and training paths for upskilling engineers.
