RED is seeking an Associate Electrical Engineer to establish a new DC power systems capability in the UK, focusing on AI data centre infrastructure across London, Newcastle or Bicester. You will work with R&D to develop DC reference designs and become the subject matter expert for DC power system design, modelling, and technical assurance.

Competenze

• Deep understanding of DC power distribution principles and system topology.
• Strong ability to model power systems using electrical analysis tools.
• Ability to communicate complex concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences.

Mansioni

• Establish RED’s DC design and power modelling capability for high‑density AI data centres.
• Develop reference designs for DC AI factory infrastructure in collaboration with R&D.
• Act as the central subject‑matter expert for DC power system design and assurance.
• Create design guidance, calculation methods and training pathways for redesigns.
• Lead development of DC power distribution concepts for AI‑ready facilities.
• Define DC reference architectures interfacing with AC supplies, UPS and storage.
• Assess equipment maturity, standards compliance and local approval requirements.
• Support testing options and compare AC vs DC distribution approaches.
• Develop standards, notes, checklists and templates for DC systems.
