Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited is seeking a diligent cleaner for a 3-month contract at a local authority school in Stone, UK. The role requires Enhanced DBS clearance and the ability to perform daily cleaning across classrooms, offices and washrooms, maintaining high hygiene standards.

You will follow COSHH and safety procedures, using commercial cleaning equipment, and contribute to a welcoming learning environment for pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience in schools/offices/public environments.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily cleaning duties across academy premises.
• Empty waste bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
• Litter picking around the site as required.
• Vacuum carpets and floor coverings.
• Sweep, mop and maintain hard floor surfaces.
• Dust and wipe desks, furniture, fixtures and fittings.
• Clean and sanitise high-touch surfaces.
• Clean and maintain washrooms, toilets and handwashing facilities.
• Replenish consumables such as soap, toilet rolls and paper towels where required.
• Ensure all cleaning tasks are completed to agreed standards and schedules.
• Safely use cleaning equipment, materials and chemicals.
• Report maintenance issues, defects or health and safety concerns.
• Follow COSHH, health and safety and site procedures at all times.
• Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach.
