Job summary

Blue Arrow is recruiting experienced chefs to work with clients in the Telford and surrounding area, mainly in educational settings. You will cook from fresh following the weekly menu rota and assist the chef manager.

You will lead the kitchen team in the absence of the chef manager, manage stock and paperwork, ensure high hygiene standards, meet dietary needs, and support ongoing and short-term placements for great clients.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-volume catering is essential.
• Food hygiene level 2 or 3 (dated within last 3 years).
• DBS check updated within 12 months or on update service (preferred).
• Allergen training completed.

Responsibilities

• Cook from fresh following the weekly menu rota.
• Assist the chef manager and lead the kitchen team in their absence.
• Stock control including ordering.
• Portion control.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene and kitchen safety.
• Record daily and weekly paperwork, including fridge temperature checks.
• Ensure all dietary needs are met.

• Recording daily & weekly paperwork accurately including daily fridge temperature checks
• Ensuring all dietary needs are met

Qualifications & experience

• Previous experience in high volume catering is essential
• Food hygiene level 2 or 3 dated within the last 3 years
• Enhanced child DBS dated within the last 12 months or registered on the update service - Preferred but not essential
• Allergen training
