Job summary

Eurest in Cambridge is seeking a passionate Sous Chef to join the team and help deliver excellent food and hospitality in a professional kitchen. You will support the Head Chef, deputise when needed, and focus on high standards, fresh ingredients, and a positive customer experience.

The role offers Monday to Friday daytime hours (06:30am–3:00pm) with evenings and weekends free, plus opportunities to develop leadership skills within a busy kitchen environment.

Qualifications

• Experience as sous chef in a professional kitchen.
• Strong organisational and methodical approach to work.
• Good stock management and ordering knowledge.
• Solid understanding of food safety, allergens and health procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver breakfast, lunch and hospitality services as part of the kitchen team.
• Support Head Chef with day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Deputise for Head Chef during absences and maintain high standards.
• Manage stock levels and monitoring of usage.
• Place orders and ensure ingredients/supplies are available when needed.
• Complete allergen information accurately and ensure safe food handling.
• Maintain food hygiene and safety standards per Compass requirements.
• Support team during busy services and ensure great food and service.
• Maintain a clean, organized and efficient kitchen.
