Your Recruiters are hiring a Kitchen Assistant in Loughborough to join a busy workplace catering team. This hands-on role covers food preparation, cooking, service and maintaining high kitchen standards. The position offers sociable daytime hours and no evenings or weekends.

With experience in catering or kitchen environments, you’ll ensure quality food, safety and allergen awareness while working closely with the team to deliver a smooth service.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working within a kitchen, catering or food-service environment.
• A Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification preferred.
• NVQ Level 2 in Professional Cookery would be advantageous.
• Good knowledge of kitchen hygiene, food safety and allergen awareness.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and presenting food to a high standard.
• Following daily menus, recipes and portion control guidelines.
• Preparing breakfasts, lunches, snacks, salads and hot dishes.
• Supporting food service during busy periods.
• Monitoring food quality, freshness and presentation.
• Following food safety, hygiene and allergen procedures.
• Keeping kitchen and food preparation areas clean and organised.
• Working closely with the wider catering team to ensure a smooth service.
