Job summary

ACS International School Cobham is seeking a reliable Daytime Cleaner to support the Facilities team. The role runs 10:00am–3:00pm, Monday to Friday, 25 hours weekly, all year round. The ideal candidate will maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.

Responsibilities include cleaning to a high standard, using PPE, and complying with COSHH regulations; you will inspect equipment, follow safety procedures and support the Cleaning Supervisor as required.

Qualifications

• Ideally has previous cleaning experience within a professional or commercial environment.
• Understanding of COSHH regulations.
• Knowledge of manual handling and general health and safety requirements.
• Experience using cleaning equipment and following professional procedures.
• Reliable, organized and able to work independently or as part of a team.
• Pride in delivering high standards of cleanliness and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties to a high standard, ensuring areas are clean, hygienic and well presented.
• Complete work efficiently, safely and cost-effectively.
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and other staff.
• Inspect cleaning machinery and portable equipment for faults prior to use.
• Comply with COSHH and use PPE where required.
• Display warning signage and follow lone working procedures.
• Be familiar with emergency procedures and first aid locations.
• Follow health and safety legislation and safe manual handling practices.
• Lock doors, secure windows, sign keys and radios in and out, keep cleaning cupboards locked.
• Undertake other duties as requested by Cleaning Supervisor or Caretaking Manager.

ACS International School Cobham is seeking a reliable and conscientious Daytime Cleaner to join our Facilities team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our students, staff and visitors.

The working hours are 10am – 3pm, Monday to Friday, 52 weeks per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties to a high standard, ensuring all areas are clean, hygienic and well presented
• Complete all work efficiently, safely and in a cost-effective manner
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and other members of staff
• Carry out visual inspections of cleaning machinery and portable equipment before use and report any faults
• Comply with COSHH regulations and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required
• Display appropriate warning signage when undertaking cleaning activities.
• Follow lone working procedures where applicable
• Be familiar with emergency procedures, the location of first aid equipment and relevant risk assessments
• Work in accordance with Health and Safety legislation, including safe manual handling practices
• Follow site security procedures, including locking doors, securing windows, signing keys and radios in and out, and ensuring cleaning cupboards are locked
• Undertake any other reasonable duties requested by the Cleaning Supervisor or Caretaking Manager.
