Job summary

ACS International School Cobham is seeking a reliable Daytime Cleaner to join the Facilities team. This full-time, permanent role runs 42.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09:00–18:00, year-round at ACS Cobham.

The ideal candidate has cleaning experience in a professional environment, understands COSHH, and can follow health and safety procedures. Commute to Cobham is required; training and safeguarding checks apply.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience in a professional or commercial environment.
• Understanding of COSHH regulations and safe cleaning practices.
• Knowledge of manual handling and general health and safety.
• Experience using cleaning equipment and following procedures.
• Reliable, organised and able to work independently or in a team.
• Pride in high standards of cleanliness and customer service.
• Must be able to commute to Cobham.

Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties to a high standard in all areas.
• Work safely, efficiently and cost-effectively.
• Communicate effectively with staff and colleagues.
• Inspect cleaning machinery and report faults.
• Comply with COSHH and wear PPE where required.
• Display warning signage when cleaning.
• Follow lone-working procedures and emergency procedures.

• Undertake other duties as requested by supervisor.

Job description

ACS International School Cobham is seeking a reliable and conscientious Daytime Cleaner to join our Facilities team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment for our students, staff and visitors.

This role is full time, permanent and for 42.5 hours per week, working 09:00 – 18:00 Monday to Friday, 52 weeks per year.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out cleaning duties to a high standard, ensuring all areas are clean, hygienic and well presented
• Complete all work efficiently, safely and in a cost-effective manner
• Communicate effectively with colleagues and other members of staff
• Carry out visual inspections of cleaning machinery and portable equipment before use and report any faults
• Comply with COSHH regulations and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required
• Display appropriate warning signage when undertaking cleaning activities
• Follow lone working procedures where applicable
• Be familiar with emergency procedures, the location of first aid equipment and relevant risk assessments
• Work in accordance with Health and Safety legislation, including safe manual handling practices
• Follow site security procedures, including locking doors, securing windows, signing keys and radios in and out, and ensuring cleaning cupboards are locked
• Undertake any other reasonable duties requested by the Cleaning Supervisor or Caretaking Manager.

• Takes pride in delivering high standards of cleanliness and customer service
• Can easily commute to Cobham/drives.
