Job summary

Dalkia UK at Dungeness Power Station is seeking an experienced Chef to join the catering team. You will help deliver high-quality meals, lead a small kitchen team and support the Chef Manager in day-to-day operations.

The role offers Monday to Friday daytime hours, 35 hours per week, with a focus on food safety, menu development and cost control, while maintaining excellent customer service in a safe, structured environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a chef in a high-volume catering environment.
• Strong culinary skills and ability to produce quality food.
• Experience supervising or supporting a kitchen team.
• Good communication and organisational abilities.
• Solid understanding of food safety, hygiene and compliance.
• Ability to work in a structured, safety-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Preparing, cooking and presenting meals to a consistently high standard.
• Supporting menu planning and development, considering nutrition, dietary and budgetary needs.
• Maintaining cleanliness, hygiene and food safety standards.
• Supporting the Chef Manager with day-to-day kitchen operations.
• Supervising, mentoring and developing junior kitchen staff.
• Ordering stock and managing supplies to minimise waste and control costs.
• Ensuring company, regulatory, food safety and site standards are followed.
• Contributing to a positive team environment and delivering excellent customer service.
