Hilton Food Group in Huntingdon is seeking an Engineer (Day Shift) to provide engineering support across the factory. You will diagnose faults, carry out remedial actions, and work with production teams to improve reliability and OEE on equipment.

The role requires a recognised apprenticeship to ONC/HNC level with strong electrical knowledge and experience in a food environment. You will join a team focused on safety, hygiene and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Must have completed a recognised apprenticeship to ONC/HNC level or equivalent with a proven track record in electrical control (PLCs, contactors, relays, safety circuits).
• Electrical knowledge is essential and beneficial.
• Experience in a food environment is essential.
• Ability to work in a team and be self-motivated.

Responsabilités

• Diagnose faults and carry out remedial action to required standards.
• Propose improvements to equipment to improve reliability and efficiency.
• Attend PIT meetings to drive OEE with production teams.
• Dismantle and re-assemble production equipment as required.
• Complete job report sheets for all work undertaken and breakdown reports.
• Ensure parts used are booked out accurately from stores.
• Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Contribute to special projects as required.
• Collaborate with contractors as necessary.
• Adhere to hygiene and health and safety rules.
• Engage in fabrication works across the business.
• Promote and maintain a culture of continuous improvement.
• Support the company's risk management strategy.

About the role:

Hilton Foods are looking oanEngineer. Reporting to the Engineer Manager, you will provideEngineering support to all factory areas to ensure that all breakdown, PPM andimprovement work is carried out to required standards.

As an Engineer some of the responsibilities will be to:

• To diagnose all faults and carry out remedial action to required standards.
• To propose improvements to all equipment in order to improve reliability and efficiency.
• To attend PIT meeting on lines to drive an increase in OEE working hand in hand with the production teams.
• To dismantle and re-assemble all production equipment in a timely manner.
• To complete the job report sheets for all work undertaken.
• To complete breakdown reports on all work undertaken.
• To ensure that parts used are booked out of the stores department in the correct format.
• To assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment as necessary.
• To contribute to any special projects that may be required.
• To work in conjunction with contractors as necessary.
• To adhere to all required hygiene and health and safety rules.
• Any other duties as may reasonably be required.
• Fabrication works across the business.
• Ensure the culture of continuous improvement is maintained and developed throughout the factory
• Support the company's risk management strategy

To succeed as an Engineer, we ask that youhave the following experience/expertise:

• Must have served a recognised apprenticeship to ONC/HNC level or an equivalent standard with a proven track record in electrical control (PLCs, contactors, relays, safety ccts etc.) Mechanical and electrical bias considered however must have skills within both areas.
• Good electrical knowledge
• Experience of working in a food environment is essential
• Self-motivated and able to work in a team environment.
