Job summary

Fibercore Ltd. in Southampton is seeking a Test Supervisor to lead the Test team, coordinating resources with the Production Manager to meet priorities and maintain throughput. The role includes hands-on testing alongside supervisory duties and a strong emphasis on health, safety, and quality.

You will routinely operate measurement equipment, record results, and ensure effective handover between shifts while driving continuous improvements in test capability.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 GCSEs, including Maths and a Science subject.
• Experience using test and measurement equipment within a manufacturing or technical environment.
• Ability to follow and interpret technical procedures, work instructions and test requirements accurately.
• Proactive and solution-focused approach with the confidence to make day-to-day decisions.
• Good communication and organisational skills to coordinate priorities and work with others.

Responsibilities

• Operate proof test machines, including length checking and fibre scrapping operations.
• Perform a range of geometric and optical measurements on optical fibre products using precision test equipment and bespoke software.
• Accurately record test results in spreadsheets and in-house databases.
• Monitor measurement results and escalate irregularities to Engineering where required.
• Perform basic maintenance and routine checks on test equipment, helping to maintain reliable operation.
• Maintain and develop your technical skills to support measurement accuracy, consistency and test capability.
