Our Day Shift typically runs from 11:00 to 23:00, Monday to Sunday, working any 5 days in 7.

Job Purpose

The Day Shift Warehouse Supervisor plays a key role working with our Operations Manager to ensure smooth daily operations at our Depot, leading teams of Sorters and Drivers in processing parcels delivered from client sites for final delivery.

About the Role

You will be a vital member of the Depot Management team, supporting your Depot by providing strong people management to all front-line staff on your shift.

You will supervise a diverse team of contracted and agency staff during the day shifts, which are crucial for processing returns and parcels collected from our Parcel Shops.

We need professionals who can motivate, manage, and discipline a diverse workforce, as well as develop talent for future promotion and leadership roles.

Responsibilities

• Develop and train reports to ensure SLA’s are met for the day shift
• Process MI reports based on work output of Drivers and Loaders
• Manage all aspects of the day parcel shop operations, including sortation and transportation efficiently and cost-effectively
• People Management: recruitment, induction, ongoing engagement, performance, and attendance management of Warehouse drivers, including daily debriefs and weekly reports
• Ensure compliance with legal requirements, managing domestic driving hours, breaks, shift lengths, and rest periods
• Plan local routes to ensure effective parcel delivery and optimal roster utilization

Essential Skills and Experience

• Ability to work independently in a pressurized environment with tight deadlines
• Experience managing teams in a fast-paced logistics environment is advantageous
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of transport regulations and skills
• Excellent communication skills at all levels
• Flexible approach to meet business needs
