Job summary

Optima UK Inc Ltd is seeking a Slinger/Signaller for a Monday to Friday day shift in Loughborough, Leicestershire. The role involves safely preparing, attaching and guiding loads during lifting operations, working closely with crane operators to ensure safe and efficient lifting.

This is a stable, long-term position with regular day shifts. The successful candidate will have CPCS/NPORS Slinger/Signaller qualification, solid knowledge of lifting practices, and good communication skills to

Qualifications

• Previous experience as a Slinger/Signaller in engineering, manufacturing or construction.
• CPCS or NPORS Slinger/Signaller qualification.
• Good knowledge of safe lifting practices and lifting accessories.
• Strong communication skills and commitment to health and safety.
• Ability to assess loads and select suitable lifting equipment.

Responsibilities

• Sling, attach and guide loads for lifting operations.
• Select and use correct lifting accessories for each load.
• Carry out pre-use checks of slings, shackles, chains and other lifting equipment.
• Ensure loads are secured, balanced and positioned before lifting.
• Direct and communicate with crane operators using recognised signals or radio.
• Guide loads safely into position and assist with placement.
• Maintain safe exclusion zones around lifting operations.
• Follow lifting plans, risk assessments, method statements and procedures.
• Work closely with crane operators, supervisors and the engineering team.
• Report damaged equipment or unsafe conditions immediately.
• Maintain a clean, safe working environment and comply with health and safety requirements.
