Job summary

Yolk Recruitment Ltd is representing an established food manufacturer in Aberystwyth, seeking an electrically biased Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer. The role is permanent, days-based with a 4 on, 4 off pattern from 10:00am to 10:00pm, and some weekend flexibility.

You will provide reactive maintenance, perform preventive tasks, fault-diagnose, and support boilers and processing equipment. The salary ranges from £40,000 to £48,000 with career progression and strong engineering support.

Qualifications

• Electrical training or qualifications with practical mechanical maintenance capability.
• Experience as Maintenance Engineer or similar.
• Ability to fault-find and repair industrial machinery.
• Experience with planned and reactive maintenance.
• Experience in food/regulated environments is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide reactive engineering support to keep high-volume production equipment running safely and efficiently.
• Complete planned preventive maintenance across production and site services equipment.
• Diagnose electrical and mechanical faults, carrying out effective repairs to minimise disruption.
• Work with equipment including processing machinery, boilers, and associated utilities.
• Support basic plumbing, mechanical strip-downs and general engineering activities when required.
• Record and manage maintenance activity through a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS).
• Make the most of planned production downtime by completing maintenance, repairs and equipment improvements.
• Work closely with another engineer on shift and communicate with production and site teams.
• Follow robust health, safety, hygiene, and food manufacturing procedures always.
