Job summary

TipTopJob in Blackburn is seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer. This hands-on role covers maintaining gearboxes, pumps, conveyors and motors, with hydraulic and pneumatic repairs as required. Some basic welding and fabrication work may be involved.

You must be Level 3 qualified in engineering (or equivalent) and proficient with Word and Excel. The position offers daytime hours, a salary of £40,000 per year and a supportive, professional engineering team with solid holiday allowance.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualified in Engineering (or above).
• Experience maintaining gearboxes, pumps, conveyors and motors.
• Hands-on hydraulic and pneumatic repairs experience.
• Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency.
• Non-woven manufacturing knowledge (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Ensure equipment is operated and maintained in a safe and reliable condition.
• Conduct effective risk assessments to promote safety for yourself and your team.
• Repair and troubleshoot mechanical issues to minimise downtime.
• Perform preventative maintenance to keep operations running smoothly.
• Analyse data to enhance equipment performance and efficiency.
• Manage projects within agreed budgets and time lines, ensuring quality results.
