Job summary

Gap Technical Ltd is seeking an HGV Technician in Cumbernauld to service and repair a fleet of heavy goods vehicles on a days-only schedule (Mon-Fri). The role requires diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults, carrying out breakdowns, and ensuring work meets manufacturer guidelines and timescales.

You will document all activities accurately, communicate effectively with teammates, and strive for first-time fixes.

Qualifications

• Ideally a Class 1 Licence.
• NVQ Level 3 or City & Guild Level 2 in heavy vehicle maintenance or equivalent.
• Desirably hold your IRTEC.
• Training and funding can be supported to achieve HGV Class 1 licence or IRTEC after length of service.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for maintaining the company's HGVs.
• Ensuring that all work is completed on time and in compliance with manufacturer guidelines.
• Carrying out all breakdowns and reactive works to high standards and within the given timeframe.
• Ability to accurately diagnose electrical and mechanical faults with the HGVs and communicate technical information to teammates.
• Ensure that all work is accurately documented and supports first-time fix.
