Job summary

Apex Resource Management Ltd. is seeking a skilled Colourist to support automotive colour development at a Daventry-area facility. You will create, match, and refine paint colours across finishes and materials, including carbon fibre tints, using solvent and water-based systems.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving are essential. Ideal candidates have 5+ years in colour development, knowledge of tinting, colour theory, and experience with industry paint systems and software.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on colour development experience.
• Strong knowledge of colour theory, tinting, and automotive paint formulation.
• Experience with solvent and water-based paint systems and multiple gloss finishes.
• Familiarity with colour matching software and calibrated equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop, match, and adjust bespoke automotive colours.
• Work with visual carbon fibre tints and finishes across gloss levels.
• Troubleshoot colour and finish issues and refine prior to approval.
• Maintain Excel trackers for paint orders, development status, and delivery dates.
• Own the paint development budget and coordinate materials.
