Job summary

Kindred is seeking hardworking cleaners to join our team based at an educational building in Cambridge, UK. The role is 4 hours per day, Monday to Friday, 10:00-14:00, at £13.28 per hour, with a DBS check required.

Responsibilities include dusting, vacuuming, sanitising surfaces, restocking supplies, and reporting maintenance issues. The position requires reliable, independent workers who can follow instructions and meet shift timings.

Qualifications

• Able to complete the physical demands of the role with reasonable adjustments.
• Ability to follow instructions (including written) and work safely for periods of time on their own.
• Complete tasks within a specified timeframe.
• English communication ability; English as a first language is not required.
• Able to fulfil the shift patterns because the timings of the role would be fixed.

• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
• Cleaning and sanitising surfaces, touchpoints, and furniture.
• Emptying bins and ensuring waste is disposed of correctly.
• Replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and toilet rolls.
• Carrying out periodic deep-cleaning tasks (e.g., carpet cleaning, polishing floors).
• Using appropriate cleaning materials for different surfaces to maintain standards and protect equipment.
• Using cleaning equipment safely (buffers, steamers, vacuums) and storing after use.
• Following health and safety regulations, including safe use of cleaning chemicals (COSHH).
• Reporting maintenance issues, hazards, or damages promptly.
• Working independently to complete tasks on time; supporting colleagues as needed.

• Requirements: Successful candidates will be required to undertake an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

About The Role

Responsibilities:

General Cleaning Tasks:

• Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping floors.
• Cleaning and sanitising surfaces, touchpoints, and furniture.
• Emptying bins and ensuring waste is disposed of correctly.

Specialist & Deep Cleaning:

• Carrying out periodic deep-cleaning tasks (e.g., carpet cleaning, polishing floors).
• Using appropriate cleaning materials for different surfaces to maintain standards and protect equipment.

Health, Safety & Compliance:

• Using cleaning equipment safely (e.g., buffers, steamers, vacuums), ensuring proper storage after use.
• Following health & safety regulations, including safe use of cleaning chemicals (COSHH).
• Reporting any maintenance issues, hazards, or damages promptly.

Teamwork & Independence:

• Working independently to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision.
• Supporting colleagues as needed to ensure high overall cleanliness standards.
