Job summary

Lore Group, owner of One Hundred Shoreditch, is seeking a Day Engineer to keep guest rooms, public spaces and back-of-house areas well‑maintained. You will support a safe, seamless guest experience through responsive maintenance and teamwork.

The role requires practical maintenance skills, a proactive approach to problem solving, and flexibility to cover various shifts including weekends and holidays. A focus on health and safety is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel, commercial property or facilities maintenance.
• Strong practical maintenance skills across disciplines.
• Proactive problem solving and fault finding.
• Good communication and ability to work independently.
• Commitment to excellent guest and colleague service.
• Knowledge of health and safety practices and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance across the hotel.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests and guest issues.
• Diagnose and repair faults across electrical, plumbing, HVAC and general building systems.
• Support contractors and ensure safe, efficient work.
• Maintain maintenance records and compliance documentation.
• Assist with hotel projects, refurbishments and upgrades.
• Keep the hotel safe, compliant and operational.
• Provide shift cover as required (annual leave, sickness, etc.).
• Collaborate with the engineering team and other departments to maintain high standards.
• Participate in engineering meetings and training sessions.
